May every step i take brings me a step closer to YOU...

Yesterday i safely arrived Westin Langkawi... it was kinda dejavu as i stepped into the hotel entrance. Yah! it's actually the very hotel that i used to be brought to by my parents in 1988... when i was in std 1. The hotel was called Langkawi Beach Resort... and now its called WESTIN hotel.

I remembered the hotel because it was the first 5 star hotel that we went to back then. And we even mistakenly took the "face towel" from the room we stayed and brought back home... :o....ha ha ha...:)

Upon checking-in, i got to know tht i've been assigned not to stay @the main building but at the villa within the hotel compound. At first i kinda reluctant, but there wasn't any room at the main block already. So i just ride on the buggy car that brought me to the said accommodation allocated for me.

Walla!... it wasn't as bad as i thot... its a villa of 5 rooms that caused RM12K/nite for ordinary guest. However, since we are under block booking, and due to room limitations, me together wth other 4 conference participants got to occupy tht castle-like villa... Alhamdulillah... who isn't flattered by luxuries?... but instead of being happy, i felt sooo guilty not having my chirpy kids along... they might be over-whelmingly jumping and playing hide_&seek all around, exploring every corners and i bet they would be daringly "dive" into the fish pond tht surrounds the villa.
...OOhhhh, im fantasizing too muchhh of them,,,

As for my "interest less" self, i got carried away by the imagination of those kiddos until i didnt even bother to walk around it, just straight and lock myself in the cozy room ... hibernating, unpacking stuffs and have a short nap straightening my spine after a hectic journey via "putra lrt-ERL-flight-Taxi-buggy car" journey.

Cutting thngs short... i bravely made an attempt walking down the hill after dinner tht night, intended to burn some calories indulged during the so-so dinner served, while doing soul-searching... again... thot i can do some self reflection during the journey in the darkness, ended up, i can't resist every second thinking of my cutie pies... resulting me buying these pairs of slippers and shoes for my gurls...to mark my achievement reaching the "Jetty Point"!...

To jaja and dedek..., i believe both of you will sooner know how to read... and if u happen to drop by this page, please remember that Umi's prayers will always be wth all of you...

I can provide you shoes to protect your feet but only Allah can provide you guidance to protect your steps...
each and every single step of a woman will determine the remaining days of our life...

what we did just now??!!!

its Friday!... its supposed to be a working day for me. And school holiday for Umar and Fathimah... Its their first term break actually for their Atfal schooling. and its the last day of the break as tomorrow and Sunday are just like their other weekend break.

While most parents in Malaysia coming down to KL for all sorts of school break activities, Umar and Fathimah although living in KL, but were just spending theirs at home wth my maid for the past few days. Nevertheless, they started theirs wth a longggg journey to KB for balik kampung on last Saturday and another lonnnnggg journey on Tuesday...but our KB trip was just a balik kampung trip wth minimal excitement to kids of their age... Despite the long tiring journey, Abi did spike some excitement to them via a short water play while in KB, meeting relatives and being wth their beloved Atuk Dy...that brought some excitement at least...and the rest were merely stay at home activities.

i still remember when i was at their age, i dont really appreciate balik kampung... as far as i remember,i cant appreciate until i grew a little bit older and wiser. than only i understand that kampung experience is just priceless...and nothing can buy time to be wth our late grandma...

post school break, one of my teachers' fav conversation topic was on "how did u spend you holiday"...

Thankful to my parents for they generously spent time and money for us for every school holidays.
Besides routine balik kampung, they brought us to places that gave us more exposure and new experiences. and that made the EXCITEMENT! for all of us.

to name a few, on how we used to spend our school break:-

Tadika - Primary -
1) Stay at kampung wth my grandma together wth my sis. (this was just until i std 3 coz my grandma passed-away when i was in std 3 (13/3/1990)-Alfatihah for Hjh Endah Bt Hj Ahmad.
2) Pesta Buku, Pesta kanak2, pameran perabot (most of them were held at Changkat Pavillion...nothing like current Pavillion, but something like exhibition room and was an -'IN' thing during tht time - and no longer exists today)
3) Tugu negara, taman tasik titiwangsa, zoo negara, zoo Melaka, Taman Buaya, A Famosa, Museum Negara,
4) The Mall sambil duduk makan balls at the fountain (was an IN thng too when someone went to The Mall at tht time...(the one opposite PWTC)...
5) Island (Langkawi - std 1, Pangkor - std 2, Penang - several times)
6) Mimaland (was an IN thing too wth its' longggg tall slides, a play ground that had dinosaurs miniature, chalet tht surrounded by water (something like chalets on tasik)
7) Frasers hill, genting highland, cameron highland, bukit cerakah,sg tekala waterfall...etc2...
(*i wish to blog every of the above separately to reminisce the good old days and how those experiences created values in me)

That were some interesting things and places on how we spent our school hols last time and those memories really made good essays when teachers assigned us topics on "Cuti Sekolah" usually right after we got back to school.

Although those were just small2 thing and nothing compared to some lucky kids nowadays tht being brought to Disneylands around the world at age as early as 4 Y.O., but mine above were all still much much better than those kids whom just have disney channel as accompanion during their school break, and abundance of homework + tuition classes, whom parents busying as always in their tall building offices, and maid as caretaker to spend their holiday at home wth.

Having tht in mind, i took leave today on last minute decision and made an attempt to make my kids school holiday memorable...

here goes the picas doing the "telling" part...
